UNDIP Rector Invites Campus Extended Family to Become Better and More Successful Individuals

UNDIP (Thursday, 4/18) – The Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. together with the extended family of Diponegoro University, held a Halal Bihalal event at the new building, the Muladi Dome Multipurpose Building (GSG) of Diponegoro University in Tembalang, Semarang.

The event with the theme “Shaping Competent Personalities with the Spirit of Ramadan and Silaturahmi” was attended by all academic community members and educational staff of UNDIP, as well as guests, such as the Head of the Tembalang District, the Chief of Police of Tembalang, the Danramil (Military District Commander) of Tembalang, the Village Head of Tembalang, and UNDIP Partner Banks and their staff.

The hope in conducting the Halal Bihalal together is that UNDIP employees have the spirit of goodness and collaboration to become prestigious individuals with their respective roles and contributions, of course, for the progress of Diponegoro University.

In his opening speech, the UNDIP Rector welcomed everyone to the Muladi Dome Building. “Alhamdulillah wa syukurilah, we are grateful to be gathered and enjoy the new UNDIP building. All of this is the effort of all academic community members of Diponegoro University. This building is evidence that when UNDIP is united, it can create something spectacular, so my message is always to maintain unity and solidarity,” said Prof. Yos.

“UNDIP’s ranking keeps rising, and many aspire to enter UNDIP, as evidenced by its becoming a favorite legal state university (PTN) that is highly sought after. Diponegoro University ranks second in the highest number of applicants (https://www.undip.ac.id/post/34250/keren-undip-nomor-2-pendaftar-terbanyak-snbp-2024.html) through the SNBP (National Selection Based on Achievement) pathway throughout Indonesia,” added the proud UNDIP Rector.

The crown of a human being and a UNDIP employee is their ability to make others happy. This building could be commercialized and generate maximum revenue so that UNDIP could provide free tuition opportunities for students with limitations who are eligible to receive them. Similarly, it can improve the welfare of employees. It is hoped that all employees will always be grateful as creatures of God and work hard to maintain their achievements.

Furthermore, Prof. Yos expressed his deepest apologies as the Rector representing himself, the management, and the family if there were any mistakes or things that were less pleasing, perhaps in policies, words, or behavior, while carrying out the mandate as the UNDIP Rector.

Meanwhile, during the session discussing the wisdom of Halal Bihalal by Kyai Dr. In’amuzzahidin Masyhudi, M.Ag., he mentioned that today’s theme has two aspects: first, shaping competent personalities, and second, silaturahmi (maintaining social ties). There are three levels of sincerity. During Ramadan, people worship for a month, learning how to become sincere individuals because fasting is a unique worship known only to Allah and us. Thus, fasting becomes the proof of the sincerity of a servant in prayer to enter heaven, which is the first topic.

“According to the book of Al-Hikam, the levels of sincerity are divided into three. The first level of sincerity in worship is only seeking rewards such as prayers, Umrah, Hajj, reading the Qur’an, and so on. Let us increase the second level of sincerity by hoping for Allah’s love and worship, not just expecting rewards. Lastly, the sincerity of those who know, not only expecting rewards or Allah’s love but only hoping for Allah’s pleasure,” he added.

Secondly, silaturahmi (maintaining social ties) is one way to enter heaven. Thirdly, spread peace. Next, the fourth is to provide food and honor guests. Finally, pray at night when others are still asleep, then you will enter heaven safely,” concluded Kyai In’am at the end of his speech. (DHW-Public Relations)
