UNDIP (25/4). The Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, usually known as Mbak Ita, had the opportunity to take part in the UNDIP 174th Graduation procession which took place at the Muladi Dome, Multipurpose Building (GSG) at Diponegoro University.
His presence as a graduate who successfully completed doctoral studies in the Public Administration Doctoral Study Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNDIP by achieving a perfect GPA of 4.00 or Summa Cumlaude. Even though he carries out his duties as Mayor of Semarang, this does not stop him from prioritizing education up to doctoral level amidst his busy activities.
His achievement of becoming a cum laude graduate and the best with a dissertation entitled “Hepta Helix Collaborative Governance in the Management of Semarang Old City Sites” was achieved with a study period of 3 years and 9 days. Mbak Ita admits that she tries to do her best in every activity, including when she has to spend time studying and completing her duties as Mayor of Semarang and housewife.
“Of course, to get the best requires sacrifice. We must be able to sort and choose. For example, when a working position means that we have to have first priority in the job we are entrusted with, then the second priority is school or college and at the same time the role of being a housewife. Of course there is reduced time, also reduced sleep time. “The point is, you have to be smart in dividing your time,” said Ms. Ita.
“And the most important thing is to learn a lot from our seniors, namely our teachers or lecturers. I am also not embarrassed to study with Bambang Pramusinto who serves as head of department at the same time because he is my team, or study with our friends and maybe in the office study with our staff or echelon II. “We don’t feel that we are the smartest people and learn a lot from references, lots of journals, and so on,” continued Ms. Ita.
For Ms. Ita, when she graduated, she didn’t just move the scissor string to the right and then receive a diploma, but how do we establish networking, how to establish communication so that later we can become alumni who make extraordinary contributions.
“Earlier during the Graduation procession, it was also mentioned that UNDIP’s rankings were worldwide, even for the Public Administration Study Program, it was ranked 24th in Asia. This has been proven by UNDIP as a benchmark that Diponegoro University is a university to be proud of. “Then also how can people in the world of work accept UNDIP alumni,” he said.
Mbak Ita also said to always be enthusiastic and stay in touch with all your friends and be able to collaborate with everyone. “God willing, UNDIP alumni can become great and make a real contribution to Nusa and the nation,” concluded Miss Ita. (DHW-Public Relations)
